The School Health program health management services to students attending Durham Public Schools (DPS).
Public Health school nurses promote and develop positive health practices and attitude among the DPS school communities.

Your Public Health School Nurses:

  • Develop guidelines to help manage chronic health concerns such as diabetes, seizures and asthma 
  • Review and monitor medications 
  • Provide health counseling
  • Perform vision screenings 
  • Work together with your child’s health care provider to make sure your child is as healthy as possible while at school
